WaveStack help
How to use WaveStack on the Mac, Windows and iPad, and inside your DAW. New to wavetables? Start with How wavetables work, then Getting started.
Basics
-
Getting started
Install WaveStack, find your way around the window, and make, hear and save your first wavetable.
-
Library, files and saving
Add wavetable folders, open and organize files, save tables, and understand drafts and what a WaveStack file keeps.
-
Tables, views and selecting
Rows, grids and volumes, the 3D, Grid and Cube views, the view navigator, selecting frames, and changing a table's size and frame size.
Making tables
-
Drawing and shaping frames
The frame editor's Pencil, Line, Curve and Harmonics tools, regions and limits, and the shapes, processing and Filter & phase in the Edit tab.
-
Keyframes and in-between frames
Mark a few frames as keyframes and let WaveStack morph the frames between them, with control over timing and morph style.
-
Building tables
Build sweeps one seed wave into a row, grid or volume, changing brightness, fold, sync, filters and more along each axis.
-
Importing samples, wavetables and images
Open Serum, Surge and WaveStack tables, turn recordings and single cycles into frames, and read images as depth maps.
-
Morph between tables
Turn two to six tables or images into the layers of a 3D volume, with the layers between them morphed.
Sound and export
-
Sound and playing
Play tables from the computer keyboard, a MIDI controller or the on-screen keyboard, scan through them, and shape the sound with envelopes, a filter, LFOs and modulation routes.
-
Exporting
Export a table for Serum, Vital, Ableton, the Deluge, the Disting and more, link a synth's folder or SD card, and use Other tools for anything else.
Other ways to use WaveStack
-
Plugin mode
Use WaveStack as a CLAP, VST3 or Audio Unit instrument in your DAW: installing, loading tables, automation, tempo sync and what's different from the app.
-
WaveStack on the iPad
How the iPad app differs from the desktop: touch gestures, the on-screen keyboard, your files, exporting through the share sheet, MIDI, and the AUv3 plugin for GarageBand, Logic, AUM and other hosts.
